The eighth edition of Opera (e)Studio put in the scene ‘Il matrimonio segreto’ in co-production with two Italian theaters
Ópera de Tenerife opens the deadline to participate in the eighth edition of Opera (e)Studio, the academy of high specialization for the young artists program, shared with two theatres of Italy: the Teatro Regio di Parma and the Teatro Massimo di Palermo. In this edition, the title chosen by Opera de Tenerife is Il matrimonio segreto by Domenico Cimarosa. In the auditions, which will take place in the two theatres of italy, in the Auditorium of Tenerife and at the Escuela Superior de Canto de Madrid, the young artists will be able to show the talent, quality and excellence in their work.
The professional team of Ópera de Tenerife will work with the selected starting from the next month of September, until the production of the opera, which will be represented in four functions, from 22 to 25 October 2020 at the Symphony Hall of the Auditorio de Tenerife. In addition, Il matrimonio segreto, will be played by the same cast of artists at the Teatro Regio di Parma and the Teatro Massimo di Palermo in 2021.
Opera (e)Studio features in this edition, auditions in four cities, which will take place on 11 and 12 may in the Escuela Superior de Canto de Madrid; the 14th and 15th of may, at the Teatro Regio di Parma; the day may 17, at the Teatro Massimo di Palermo and, to end the cycle of auditions, in the Auditorium of Tenerife, on the 19th of may.
The candidates that are presented to the selection process should be interpreted, according to the role to which every candidate is present, the arias corresponding mandatory to the opera Il matrimonio segreto by Domenico Cimarosa; and two arias by other comic operas (or intermezzi) in Italian Pergolesi, Galuppi, Piccinni, Paisiello, Cimarosa, Haydn, Salieri, Mozart or Rossini, of which one with recitative. All the arias, including extracts, the role of Il matrimonio segreto, must be sung from memory.
The singer may be submitted to more than one role and the qualifications that are required for the five roles of this edition are: Geronimo (bass, baritone or bass-baritone) the aria Udite, tutti udite, the recitative Questa invero è curious and the duet Is fiato in Corpo avete; Elisetta (soprano or mezzo-soprano) aria are vendicara; Carolina (mezzo-soprano or contralto) aria E vero che in casa; Conte Robinson (bass, baritone or bass-baritone) the introduzione titled Face, non no doubt though about, the recitative Or sappi, sposa mia and aria Pria che spunti in ciel l’aurora.

The young artists program of Ópera de Tenerife has as its purpose the holistic formation and high specialization in the picture lyric international. In these eight editions have participated, between auditions and selected singers from more than 24 different nationalities. Opera (e)Studio has been the showcase and springboard for artists who are now a reality in the lyrical world.
Also, this has been one of the programs from the Opera de Tenerife has given greater visibility to the work that is done in the production workshops of Auditorio de Tenerife, having obtained the recognition of the European Commission’s programme Creative Europe, which reflects the development, sustainability, job creation and training during 2019 and 2020.
