Opera (e)Studio reaches its eighth edition fully consolidated. Each time there are more singers who show their interest in joining this initiative. The artists selected for this production will remain almost two months on the island of Tenerife, where he carried out an intense work of musical aspects and scenic, to put in place a title of the opera within the opera season of the Auditorio de Tenerife and that this edition will be Il matrimonio segreto by Domenico Cimarosa, a co-production of Ópera de Tenerife, Teatro Regio di Parma and Teatro Massimo di Palermo.
Dramma giocoso in two acts, with music by composer Domenico Cimarosa and Italian libretto by Giovanni Bertati, based on the play the Clandestine Marriage by George Colman the Elder and David Garrick. The first performance took place on 7 February 1792 at the Hofburgtheater in Vienna in the presence of the emperor Leopold II, who liked it so much, that after giving dinner to the whole company, he asked for an encore full of the same. One of the operas most interesting and famous of Cimarosa, clear example of opera buffa of the S. XVIII, contains a plot full of impossible situations, costumes and happy ending, where a wealthy merchant willing to ascend socially intends to marry his two daughters with men of the aristocracy. What you do not know the merchant is that one of his daughters has married in secret with one of his employees. All of the imminent conflict and mess is garnished with a music particularly original, that stylistically sits between Mozart, Rossini and Donizetti.
