The artists will work on the different aspects that make up a production opera
The ten singers of the VII Edition of Opera (e)Studio has begun its work of formation that is to receive in the Island through various master classes, which this year will be taught by the artistic director of the program, Giulio Zappa; the soprano Italian, Mariella Devia; the director, Pablo Maritano, and the mayor of Ópera de Tenerife, Alejandro Abrante.
The first of these lectures is developing at the orders of the master Giulio Zappa, who is in charge of providing training in vocal technique, interpretation and, in particular, the importance of the phonetic Italian applicable to the interpretive model belcantista of the first half of the 1800s, where we find composers such as Donizetti, Bellini and Rossini.
For his part, Pablo Maritano will be in charge of the scenic interpretation. Also, as in previous editions, the soprano Mariella Devia shared with the artists technique and experience that has distinguished itself in his long professional career in the major venues lyric in the world. To complete this training, Alejandro Abrante will give a talk where you will see the keys for which the artist relates, from a holistic point of view, with different aspects that make up the professional management of an artistic career and give them the tools necessary to be competitive in the demanding labor market of the opera.
All this training process will conclude with the representation of the 24 to October 27, L’elisir d’amore, Gaetano Donizetti, a title that inaugurated the new opera season 2019-2020 of Ópera de Tenerife.
The cast of this production is composed of two casts, which act on functions alternating during the four representations, and will feature the voices of Maria Rita Combatelli (soprano); Beatriz de Sousa (soprano); Klodjan Kaçani (tenor); César Arrieta (tenor); Alberto Bonifazio (baritone saxophone); James Ochoa (baritone); Givi Gigineishvili (bass); Matteo Andrea Mollica (bass); Sofía Esparza (soprano) and Leonora Tess (soprano). The ten components of this edition come from the auditions held in the month of February in Bologna, Tbilisi, Madrid and Tenerife, which was attended by a total of 181 candidates from 33 nationalities.
